Diary Secrets #25 - Matt Baker cover & reprints

Matt Baker
Diary Secrets v1 #25, 1954 - Young lovers steal a kiss through an apartment window, just as the girl's mother enters. Matt Baker employs an triangular layout with masterfully positioned elements. The couple's warm embrace is nicely framed within the window itself and portions of the fire escape. Within the issue, three fine Baker reprints stand out. "Lovelife of an Army Nurse" and "Make-Believe Marriage" were both originally from Wartime Romances #1, while "I Tried to Burn the Candle at Both Ends" is an early work from Teen-Age Diary Secrets / Blue Ribbon Comics v2 #4. Other artists in this issue include Chuck Miller. This is number 16 of 21 Diary Secrets issues with Baker art and/or covers.
