Pictorial Romances #22 - Matt Baker art & cover

Matt Baker
Pictorial Romances v1 #22, 1953 - Posing as a relative, an ex-con blackmails a former girlfriend into staying with her and her new husband. The interactions between characters are carefully planned by artist Matt Baker. In one panel, a moment of intimacy between husband and wife (see interior page below) is lovingly drawn. Baker's cover is more straightforward in theme and execution. Note how the woman leans rightward, thrown off balance by the situation. Other artists in this issue include Bill Ely. This is number 19 of 21 Pictorial Romances issues with Baker art and/or covers.
