Matt Baker |
Pictorial Romances v1 #6, 1951 - As sailors disembark from their ship, a man overhears his girlfriend pledge her love to another. This tense scene is partially offset by the cover's light, airy layout. Matt Baker's focus on the couple, classically drawn and positioned, clearly stand out. Notably, the aircraft carrier in the distance adds a greater sense of scale and depth. In addition to this spacious cover, Baker's only work inside is ""Men Offered Me Stardom - If I Would Pay Their Price", a reprint from
Teen-Age Diary Secrets / Blue Ribbon Comics v2 #5. Other artists in this issue include Warren King and others. Other artists in this golden age comic include Chuck Miller. This is 2 of 21
