Tarzan of the Apes v1 #217, 1972 - Hearing of a black queen that enslaves her subjects, Tarzan travels to uncharted territory to investigate. Joe Kubert continues his run on the series, employing a two-page splash and several large panels to showcase his artistry. Tarzan comes face-to-face with a coal-black lion in the most startling sequence of the story. Kubert's cover is more than adequate, but suffers compared to the interiors.
