Authentic Police Cases v1 #23, 1952 - Using a pretty blonde to distract a dock worker, two thugs proceed with their heist. Though constrained by the smaller space, the cover art has the key components of the story. The moon, pilings, crates and warehouses all play a part in Matt Baker's layout. Not surprisingly, the woman's red dress stands out from the surrounding dull color palette. Despite what some comic book guides say, Baker did illustrate the cover, but did not contribute to the interiors. Other artists in this golden age crime comic include Enrico Bagnoli.
