Detective Comics #438 |
Detective Comics v1 #438, 1974 - Christine St. Clair briefs her Interpol boss on Manhunter's exploits, convincing him to continue further investigation. In his second back-up story of the series,
Walt Simonson continues to employ a distinctive textural approach. His layouts, including his configurations of small panels, continues to be innovative (see interior page below). This story was later reprinted in
Manhunter #1 and
Manhunter Special Edition #1. Simonson's art looks especially contemporary next to the abundance of reprinted material (the best of which is "The Men Who Moved the World", a
Joe Kubert Hawkman tale from
Brave and the Bold #44). Other artists in this bronze age comic include Jim Aparo and Gil Kane. Cover by Michael Kaluta. This is 2 of 12
Detective Comics issues by
Simonson. ///
