Detective Comics v1 #403, 1970 - While Batman mourns the death if an innocent woman, an eerie carriage awaits in the background. Neal Adams' did several creepy gothic-style covers for Batman-featured titles. Here he uses a misty textural background to great effect, contrasting against the tragic figures in the foreground. Other artists in this comic include Carmine Infantino, Murphy Anderson and Gil Kane. This is 17 of 38 Detective Comics issues by Adams.
