Detective Comics v1 #403, 1970 - While Batman mourns the death if an innocent woman, an eerie carriage awaits in the background. Neal Adams' did several creepy gothic-style covers for Batman-featured titles. Here he uses a misty textural background to great effect, contrasting against the tragic figures in the foreground. Other artists in this comic include Carmine Infantino, Murphy Anderson and Gil Kane.
