House of Mystery #226 - Nestor Redondo art, Bernie Wrightson reprint

House of Mystery v1 #226, 1974 - A Victorian couple dotes on their handsome son while his freakish twin is locked away in the basement. Lovingly drawn and composed, Nestor Redondo's art demonstrates his skill at capturing past historical periods. Architecture, clothing and interiors seem utterly convincing. Many individual panels are supeb, including the mother's deceptive kiss on her deformed son's cheek (page 7, panel 6). Also in this issue is a Bernie Wrightson reprint from House of Mystery #180. The cover partially borrows an Alex Toth page from House of Mystery #182. Other artists in this issue include Pat Broderick, Jess Jodloman, Alfredo Alcala, Frank Robbins, Sergio Aragones and Luis Domingez (cover). This is number 9 of 16 House of Mystery issues with Redondo art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Redondo or House of Mystery issues.
