Our Army at War #32 - Joe Kubert art

Our Army at War #32
Our Army at War v1 #32, 1955 - During a lull in the Pacific theater, a GI participates in a diving competition, only to run into a Japanese submarine. There are semblances of Joe Kubert's art that remind me of his early superhero work for DC. The ages are lushly detailed and also include an open frame sequence (see interior page below). This story is Kubert's first on Our Army at War and was later reprinted in G.I. Combat #145. Other artists in this golden age comic include Ross Andru and Mike Esposito. Cover by Jerry Grandenetti. This is 1 of 236 Our Army at War issues by Kubert.
