Unknown Worlds of Science Fiction #1 - Frank Brunner art, Neal Adams, Al Williamson / Frank Frazetta reprints + 1st issue

Unknown Worlds of Science Fiction #1
Unknown Worlds of Science Fiction v1 #1, 1975 - Leading off this first issue is an obvious parody of Flash Gordon. This is an early (late 1960s?) science fiction work by Frank Brunner that finally sees print. The artist's flowing, gradated style has an ethereal quality that stands out from the rest of the book. Also included is a comic book adaptation of Day of the Triffids and an interview with author Ray Bradbury. Reprints from Phase #1 (Neal Adams art) and Witzend #1 (Al Williamson / Frank Frazetta) complement the newer material. This issue also includes artwork by Gene Colan, Tom Palmer, Ross Andru, Ernie Chua, Frank Kelly Freas and Michael Kaluta. This is 1 of 4 Unknown Worlds of Science Fiction issues by Brunner. /// key 1st issue
