Our Army at War v1 #242 featuring Sgt. Rock / DC 100 Page Super Spectacular #DC-9, 1972 - This glorious 100 page super spectacular (the first of the series) begins with a fine Joe Kubert cover. The front wraps around to the back, also displaying panel vignettes of the contents. Comprised of reprints, the interiors include Kubert tales from G.I. Combat #68 and #108. Kubert's best contribution is a series of divider pages, each featuring a branch of the armed forces and a different DC war hero. Each exceptionally drawn splash stands on its own. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Sam Glanzman, Jerry Grandenetti, Mort Drucker and Irv Novick.
