Our Army at War v1 #242 featuring Sgt. Rock / DC 100 Page Super Spectacular #DC-9, 1972 - This glorious 100 page super spectacular (the first of the series) begins with a fine Joe Kubert cover. The front wraps around to the back, also displaying panel vignettes of the contents. Comprised of reprints, the interiors include Kubert tales from G.I. Combat #68 and #108. Kubert's best contribution is a series of divider pages, each featuring a branch of the armed forces and a different DC war hero. Each exceptionally drawn splash stands on its own. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Sam Glanzman, Jerry Grandenetti, Mort Drucker and Irv Novick. This is 177 of 236 Our Army at War issues by Kubert.
