Teen-age Diary Secrets #8 - Matt Baker art

Teen-age Diary Secrets v1 #8, 1950 - When Ned is rejected by his girl Rita, young Jane sees an opportunity to catch him on the rebound. Some sources are unsure whether "Second Hand Sweetheart" was drawn by Matt Baker, but closer scrutiny of the faces and figures make it likely in my opinion. Unfortunately, an unknown inker diminishes the original pencils, which in turn may account for the less recognizable style. "I Was Torn Between Two Loves" is illustrated by Chuck Miller, but Baker seems to have pencilled the opening splash (see interior page below). This story was later reprinted in Pictorial Romances #12. This is number 5 of 6 Teen-Age Diary Secrets issues with Baker art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Baker or Teen-Age Diary Secrets issues. See also this blog's Baker checklist.
