Teen-age Romances #4 - Matt Baker art

Teen-age Romances #4
Teen-age Romances v1 #4, 1949 - Highlighting this issue are two terrific Matt Baker stories. In the first, a teenager tries to convince her sister of her boyfriend's infidelity. The masquerade party setting provides ample colorful costumes to enhance visual interest. Baker's second tale involves a girl's intricate plan to attract a beau through her brother and his girlfriend. Both features are lovingly drawn with large, detailed opening panels. Baker also contributes three splendid illustrations for a brief text story. His first page, a dreamy montage of the lead character, is especially good. "I Couldn't Give Up My Secret Love" was later reprinted in Diary Secrets #13 and #30. Other artists in this golden age comic include Warren Kremer. This is 4 of 42 Teen-age Romances issues by Baker.
