Star Spangled War Stories v1 #180 featuring the Unknown Soldier, 1974 - In this sequel to the sci-fi tale in
Star Spangled War Stories #170, a group of futuristic soldiers discover a war machine that survived its initial destruction.
Walt Simonson's artwork is more polished and confidently drawn. Layout and pacing are integral to the storytelling. The sliced up panel sequences on page 5 are inventive and devastatingly effective. The Art of Walt Simonson.
Joe Kubert's cover portrays a deadly conundrum for the Unknown Soldier. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Jack Sparling. This is 76 of 96
