Weird War Tales v1 #68, 1978 - During the 1930s, an American reporter is dispatched to Spain to record the conflict between Franco and his enemies. Frank Miller draws his second of two early works for this title. Unlike
his previous story, this one shows the semblance of a style that would distinguish him only a few years later. His drawings are rudimentary, sometimes lost under Danny Bulanadi's inks. This is partially offset by Miller's experimentations with layout. This story was later reprinted in
Sgt. Rock Special #6. A less than sufficient cover is
Joe Kubert's contribution. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Gerry Talaoc. This is 26 of 52
Weird War Tales issues by
Kubert and 2 of 2 Weird War Tales issues by
Miller.
