Weird War Tales #64 - Frank Miller art, Joe Kubert cover

Joe Kubert
Weird War Tales v1 #64, 1978 - Making a deal with the devil, a GI secures the promise of survival on the D-Day invasion. Frank Miller does the story pencils, struggling with basic layout and figure drawing. Adding insult to injury, inker Danny Bulanadi adds little improvement. Miller's style, although nascent, is almost unrecognizable. Joe Kubert comes through with a usually competent cover design. Other artists in this issue include Juan Ortiz and Romeo Tanghal. This is number 1 of 2 Weird War Tales issues with Miller art and/or covers. See today's posts or more MillerKubert or Weird War Tales issues.
