True Love Pictorial v1 #8, 1954 - Looking after a spoiled, wealthy young woman, a nurse finds herself spending more time with her patient's fiancée. Although without flourish, Matt Baker draws the tale with great care. Facial expressions and body language convey the characters' feelings succinctly. Baker's cover (unrelated) captures a common scenario of that era. Not surprisingly, the layout centers around the girlfriend. Her jacket's color matches that of the masthead, drawing more attention. Other artists in this golden age romance comic include Jim Mooney, Bernard Sachs and Bob Bean.
