Pictorial Romances #14 - Matt Baker art & cover

Matt Baker
Pictorial Romances v1 #14, 1952 - Desperate to leave her poor lifestyle, a pretty girl teams up with a smooth operator to fleece soldiers on leave. Fluid and engaging, Matt Baker's draftsmanship comes through in nearly every panel. The opening scene introduces the main character reclining in the window of her tenement home. Readers peer in through that same window, revealing her poverty and despair. Baker creates a vivid setting far better than his cover design. This is number 11 of 21 Pictorial Romances issues with Baker art and/or covers.
