Tor #4 - Joe Kubert art & cover

Tor v1 #4 st john golden age comic book cover art by Joe Kubert
Joe Kubert
Tor v1 #4, 1954 - This imposing cover displays an enormous masthead, yet works cohesively with Joe Kubert's excellent drawing. His first two stories are less aggressive and exciting, though just as finely detailed. The best work occurs on "Great Wolf", beginning with a gritty two-page spread of a wolf pack's ferocious attack. Smaller, compact panels follow, but each is drawn with precision and craftsmanship. The back-up tale "Danny Dreams" shows glimpses of Kubert's hand but to what extent is hard to determine. This is 4 of 5 Tor issues by Kubert.
