Tarzan of the Apes #167 |
Tarzan of the Apes v1 #167, 1967 - Tarzan finds Jane in the city of A-Lur, where human sacrifice is practiced. Russ Manning's artwork captures the primitive splendor of Pal-Ul-Don and the Triceritops-like predators that populate its lands. Interestingly, the creatures' influence on the city is conveyed through its architecture and ritual attire. Tarzan's son Korak also makes an appearance. This issue concludes the adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan the Terrible. Other artists in this silver age adventure comic include Jesse Marsh, Nat Edson and Tom Massey. This is 127 of 133 Tarzan issues by Manning.
