Detective Comics v1 #412, 1971 - Trapped in quicksand, the Batman suddenly sees a medieval knight on horseback bearing down on him. Neal Adams' cover is fairly straightforward in layout. Both figures are prominently featured. The knight's lance is positioned close enough to the hero to evoke tension. Adams' foreshortening of the horse is convincing, something few artists could pull off. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Don Heck. This is 26 of 38 Detective Comics issues by Adams.
