Tarzan v1 #74, 1955 - Enjoying the hospitality of the M'Tembo kingdom, the Brothers of the Spear soon learn there is another ruler vying for power. Russ Manning depicts opulent settings with exotic patterns and interiors. This is a welcome change to the storyline's more common jungle scenery. His drawings steadily improve, evidenced by his illustration of a vast hall adorned with elephant sculptures (page 2 panel 1). Other artists in this golden age comic include Jesse Marsh. This is 36 of 133 Tarzan issues by Manning.
