Marvel Comics Presents #80 - Barry Windsor Smith art & cover, Steve Ditko art

Barry Windsor Smith
Marvel Comics Presents v1 #80, 1991 - Breaking free of his bonds, Wolverine goes berserk within the secret compound, killing every guard in sight. The story art opens with a stunning splash page, conveying the mutant’s rage and determination. Subsequent pages are carefully designed and illustrated. Barry Smith maintains a high level of detail, an attribute that falls short on his cover. In a separate tale, Captain America battles the heavily armored Wargod. Whimsical and eclectic, Steve Ditko’s style seems outdated for the superhero genre. Other artists in this issue include Dennis Jensen. This is number 9 of 13 Marvel Comics Presents issues with Smith art and/or covers and number 1 of 3 Marvel Comics Presents issues with Ditko art and/or covers.
