Tarzan v1 #78, 1956 - King Molithi gifts the Brothers of the Spear two elephants for helping him retain his throne. Their journey back home is nonetheless fraught with danger. With most settings occurring at night, one can see Russ Manning's use of shadows to heighten contrast. He would employ this approach more effectively in later works. Other artists in this golden age comic include Jesse Marsh. This is 40 of 133 Tarzan issues by Manning.
