Superboy #158 - Wally Wood art, Neal Adams cover

Neal Adams
Superboy v1 #158, 1969 - A transmission from space reveals Superboy's parents floating in a coffin in deep space. The story adds further details to the last days of Krypton, even introducing more survivors of the disaster. Perhaps due to the setting and  theme, Wally Wood does a noticeably better job than usual on the inks. The lighting is more dramatic and more carefully considered. Neal Adams gets equally good results with his cover design, which fills all available space. This is number 5 of 8 Superboy issues with Wood art and/or covers.
