Sgt. Rock Special v1 #4, 1989 - Reprinting from previous decades, this series focused on mostly Sgt. Rock and other war heroes. This issue's stories first appeared in Our Army at War #147, #148, #190 (all drawn by Joe Kubert), Weird War Tales #72 (by Walt Simonson) and All-American Men of War v2 #30 (by Wally Wood). Simonson provides a contemporary new cover, complete with exploding planes flanking the title character. I think this issue and G.I. Combat #169 were the only two war covers by Simonson.
