Detective Comics v1 #33, 1939 - After six previous appearances in this title, the origin of the Batman is revealed for the first time in this golden age issue. The violent death of Bruce Wayne's parents, his subsequent training as a superhero, and the inspiration for his costume are all chronicled. His origin is inserted in the first two pages of a longer Batman feature. This was later reprinted in Batman #1 (with a new title panel on the opening page), Secret Origins v2 #1 and Secret Origins v2 #1. /// key 1st origin Batman
