Matt Baker |
Phantom Lady v1 #13 (#1), 1947 - First introduced in Police Comics #1, Sandra Knight finally gets her own self-titled series six years later. Matt Baker begins his historic run, infusing glamour and beauty into the crime genre. The stories are mostly forgettable (a robot lookalike that frames our heroine and ex-Nazis that steal a critical invention), but Baker's drawings and page layouts are well designed and executed.
Phantom Lady easily places him among the top artists of the golden age. Other artists in this golden age comic include Paul Parker. This is 1 of 10
