Star Spangled War Stories v1 #150, 1970 - Shot down in enemy territory, Enemy Ace makes his way home, but not before he encounters people whose loved ones may have been killed by him. This powerful story of guilt and tragedy is thoughtfully rendered by Joe Kubert. His layouts and sequencing are clear and sensible. The high point is a conceptual panel, depicting Enemy Ace warming himself over a fire while aerial battles rage in his head (see interior page below). This story was later reprinted in DC Special Series #18. The back-up tale is a Viking Prince reprint from
Brave and the Bold #12. Other artists in this bronze age comic comic include Ric Estrada. This is 50 of 96
