Crime and Punishment v1 #68, 1954 - Two shady characters are caught in mid- transaction, their package momentarily suspended in time. Despite the domineering type and graphics, Alex Toth still delivers a stunning cover illustration. Three gun barrels point menacingly at the perpetrators, the left one directly at the box. Their near foreground placement not only adds depth but their relative size suggests an overwhelming show of force. Like a handful of other "deep dimension" issues, the artwork uses layers of halftone screens to increase modeling and interest. This is 2 of 2 Crime and Punishment issues by Toth.
