Detective Comics #509 |
Detective Comics v1 #509, 1981 - Thought to have perished in their last battle, the Catman returns to exact revenge on both Catwoman and the Batman. This full length tale is superbly drawn by
Don Newton and Dan Adkins. A bold opening splash conveys the villain's seething rage. Two flashbacks within the story appear in a fluid, but effective montage. Along with the climactic panel on page 14, the overall artwork is among Newton's best of the series. This story was later reprinted in
Tales of the Batman: Gerry Conway TPB #2. Other artists in this copper age comic include Jose Delbo and Joe Giella. Cover by Jim Aparo. This is 28 of 39
Detective Comics issues by
Newton.
