Tales to Astonish #35 - Jack Kirby art & cover, Steve Ditko art + 1st Antman

Jack Kirby
Tales to Astonish v1 #35, 1962 - Following his first appearance, scientist Hank Pym uses his shrinking serum on himself to save his colleagues from Russian spies. Donning a costume and newly invented cybernetic helmet, this is his first appearance as Ant-manJack Kirby's story art is typically well drawn and organized, though his cover takes distortion a bit too far. In Steve Ditko's brief tale, an escaped convict finds a door to another dimension. The pages seem minimal, but add to the story's unsettling tone. Other artists in this silver age issue include Don Heck. This is 34 of 81 Tales to Astonish issues by Kirby and 35 of 57 Tales to Astonish issues by Ditko. /// key 1st appearance, 1st cover Hank Pym as Ant Man
