Our Army at War v1 #128, 1963 - Interestingly, the story runs parallel tracks of the history of two different army sergeants, one German and one American (Sgt. Rock).
Joe Kubert illustrates their inevitable showdown with the usual gusto. Overlapping and oddly shaped panels only add to the visual interest (see interior page below). Sadly, Kubert's weakly composed cover is replicated as the opening splash. This story was later reprinted in
