Donald Duck #52 - Carl Barks art, mis-attributed Barks cover

Donald Duck #52
Walt Disney's Donald Duck v1 #52, 1957 - Donald Duck, Uncle Scrooge and company pursue a long abandoned gold mine. They soon encounter pack rats and need all their smarts to outwit them. Carl Barks even makes the lonely desert locale interesting. The most texture and linework occurs in the mine scenes (see interior page below), offering a contrast to the sparse outdoors. This story was later reprinted in Donald Duck #134 and #230. Other characters featured in their own stories include Mickey Mouse, Goofy and the Big Bad Wolf. This is 35 of 43 Donald Duck issues by Barks.
