Amazing World of DC Comics #6 |
Amazing World of DC Comics v1 #6, 1975 - Showcasing the Joe Orlando-edited titles at the time, this bronze age fanzine contains interviews and articles mostly on DC's bronze age horror comics. An unused
Bernie Wrightson illustration is printed in cyan on the inside front cover, perhaps an early Swamp Thing prototype? Just as intriguing are the rejected covers by
Alex Toth (from an unspecified
House of Mystery issue) and
Nestor Redondo (
Swamp Thing #15). The latter is even better than the published version, although it escapes me why it wasn't used. Anyone have any theories? The nudity perhaps? Cover by Joe Orlando. This is 1 of 1
Amazing World of DC Comics issues by
Redondo, 1 of 1 Amazing World of DC Comics issues by
Toth and 2 of 2 Amazing World of DC Comics issues by
Wrightson.
