Mike Ploog |
Gamut v1 #1, 1975 - Featuring mostly amateur artists and writers, the first issue of this independent Canadian comic is bolstered by several pages of sketches by professionals. Among these is a
Neal Adams religious parody (likely for
National Lampoon), two pages by
Jeff Jones and three sketches by
Bernie Wrightson (including a
House of Mystery cover). All are printed in black and white and may or may not have been previously published.
Mike Ploog's brutish cover works nicely within the designated space. This the issue's only color drawing and the only work of significance. Other artists in this bronze age fanzine include Will Eisner. This is 1 of 1
Gamut issues by
Ploog. ///
