Eerie Comics #1 |
Eerie Comics v1 #1, 1947 - After wartime pilots crash land on a remote island, they're attacked by a native tribesmen part of a lizard cult. Kudos to Joe Kubert for putting detail and effort into the story art, but his figure proportions show a lack of maturity. Like many young artists during the golden age, his skill and aesthetic have room for improvement. Kubert's tale was later reprinted in Out of This World #1 and Out of This World Adventures #1. This issue, which includes artwork by Fred Kida, is also regarded as the first horror comic. This is 1 of 1 Eerie Comics issues by Kubert. /// key Landmark issue (1st horror genre comic), 1st issue
