Avengers v1 #80, 1970 - His parents gunned down by an assassin, Will Talltrees' prayers are answered when he is granted the spirit of Red Wolf, a tribal hero and legend from the past. Tracking the killer to New York City, he gains the respect of the Avengers, who offer their aid. After concluding his storyline in the next issue, an old west version of this hero next appears in Marvel Spotlight #1 before debuting in his own series. This Roy Thomas story was drawn by John Buscema and Tom Palmer. Cover by Buscema and Palmer.
