Pictorial Romances v1 #19, 1953 - In "I Was a Toy of Love". a young woman leaves her husband and baby for the rich lifestyle she's always wanted. In a similarly bad decision, another woman elopes with a wealthy man she doesn't love in "Elopement Hid Our Sins".
Matt Baker fills the pages of these two tales with beautifully detailed artwork. His layouts are carefully planned and sequenced, starting with a large opening panel in each. Baker's cover is unrelated to his stories, but matches the scandalous tone. "Toy" was later reprinted in
Teen-age Romances #40. Other artists in this golden age comic include Bernard Sachs, Ric Estrada and Jim Mooney. NOTE: copies may exist where this cover was combined with previously published St. John romance comics instead of the contents below. This is 16 of 21
