Joe Kubert |
Weird War Tales v1 #6, 1972 - As
Joe Kubert's cover suggests, this issue is dedicated to robot-themed stories. While his cover concept is sound, the artist seems to put less effort than usual in the actual execution.
Alex Toth does the intro and concluding pages, following three GIs during an enemy barrage. His first two pages are the most effective, varying line thicknesses to increase depth. Subsequent pages become more graphic as thicker strokes become the norm. Regardless, Toth's work stands out from the rest of the issue. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Frank Thorne. This is 6 of 52
