Iron Fist #13 - John Byrne art

Iron Fist #13
Iron Fist v1 #13, 1977 - Meeting a friend on a pier at midnight, Iron Fist falls into an ambush by Boomerang instead. John Byrne does a nice job setting the stage on the opening splash, complete with a New York skyline in the background. Dan Adkins' inks fare much better this time, adding clarity to the original pencils. Byrne's action scenes take up most of the story, but it's a small, thoughtful panel on page 17 that stands out (interior page below). Misty Knight painfully decides to exit, leaving a devastated Iron Fist behind. In an apt metaphor, the long horizontal panel extends the moment before shattering like glass. Cover by Dave Cockrum. This is 13 of 15 Iron Fist issues by Byrne. /// Byrne gallery
