Tower of Shadows v1 #8, 1970 - In the last of Wally Wood's fantasy stories, a medieval king pays the price for his evil ambitions. While marginally less impressive than his previous issue, Wood continues to demonstrate a mastery of the genre (This story was later reprinted in Marvel Comics Art of Wally Wood and Conan #47). Bernie Wrightson's cover nicely straddles both horror and sorcery, reinforcing the interior story's theme. Also included is a fine Steve Ditko tale from Tales to Astonish #14. Other artists in this bronze age horror comic include Don Heck.
