Batman #364 |
Batman v1 #364, 1983 - Checking in on Jason Todd at the circus, the Batman also encounters a thief who calls himself Chimera. Don Newton's layouts vary widely, with mixed results. Although Alfredo Alcala's inking dominates the pages, Newton's style emerges in the most pivotal scenes. The Batman's clash with the villain under the big top (pages 14-17) is especially good, but not good enough to offset other mediocre pages. Other artists in this copper age comic include cover creators Ed Hannigan and Dick Giordano. This is 19 of 32 Batman issues by Newton.
