Jim Steranko |
10. Nick Fury, Agent of S.h.i.e.l.d. v1 #7, 1968 - Placed in a nightmarish environment, the title character attempts to flee only to teeter on the ground's edge. Jim Steranko's homage to Surrealism may be one of the first in comics. The landscape's multiple clocks, melting objects and single point perspective are all obvious nods to artist Salvador Dali. Regardless, Steranko's last effort for the series is beautifully executed and a testament to his innovative thinking. The interior art is by Frank Springer. This is number 7 of 7 Nick Fury, Agent of Shield issues by Steranko. Top 10 Steranko comics / Steranko gallery / original cover
