Detective Comics #466 - Marshall Rogers art

Detective Comics v1 #466, 1977 - In a Green Arrow back-up tale, the infamous Calculator draws out the emerald archer by delaying the last game of a fictitious World Series. This early work by Marshall Rogers is also his first on the series. The stiffness of the figure drawings shows a lack of experience, but he compensates with distinctive panel and page layouts. The most effective sequences occur on the baseball-themed battle on page 5. Other artists in this issue include Ernie Chua and Vince Colletta. This is number 1 of 13 Detective Comics issues with Rogers art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Rogers or Detective Comics issues.
