Strange Terrors #5 - Joe Kubert art

Strange Terrors #5
Strange Terrors v1 #5, 1952 - An Englishman tries to save a beautiful girl from being sacrificed to a resurrected Minotaur. Joe Kubert produces his best story for this series, depicting the ancient Greek monster with both weight and substance. His fine lines add detail and expression in every panel. I especially like the skillful rendering on the portrait of the elderly guardian (see interior page below). Although better known for his adventure comics, Kubert proves himself just as capable drawing in the horror genre. Other artists in this golden age horror comic include Bill Molno. This is 3 of 4 Strange Terrors issues by Kubert.
