The Texan #12 - Matt Baker art, mis-attributed Baker cover

The Texan v1 #12, 1951 - Comic book price guides have mistakenly attributed this cover to Matt Baker. The Indian portrait in the center seems too detailed compared to other works of the same era. By contrast, Baker's three interior stories are consistently graphic in style and approach. The final story, "Trail of the Longhorns", stands out even more due to two full splashes and enticingly roomy panels. This is 8 of 11 Texan issues by Baker. /// Baker gallery
