Tarzan v1 #67, 1955 - Dan-el sends word of his return to the kingdom, but Nagopa the witch doctor hears of this and plans an ambush. Russ Manning's artwork begins fairly conservatively, but gets more interesting as the story progresses. Set in the Aba-Zulu's royal palace, the last two pages are especially notable. The characters' attire becomes more detailed and the interiors more decorative. Other artists in this golden age comic include Jesse Marsh, who draws the main Tarzan feature. This is 29 of 133 Tarzan issues by Manning.
