Wild Boy of the Congo v1 #13, 1955 - The title character attempts to stop a water buffalo from running amok in this terrific Matt Baker illustration. Unlike many golden age jungle comics, the anatomy of the animals looks fairly convincing. The muted colors are especially beautiful and enhance Baker's fine draftsmanship. On the bottom of the layout, a large splash of water separates into diagonal directions, adding further tension and excitement. Other artists in this golden age comic include Frank Kramer.
