Journey Into Mystery #33 - Al Williamson, Steve Ditko art

Journey Into Mystery v1 #33, 1956 - A pirate ship picks up an old man on a raft, with the intent of adding another member to their ranks. Al Williamson's drawings have a looseness and spontaneity not uncommon during the 1950s, but this one needs a tad more definition. It is a competently done, though not exceptional, in its draftsmanship. Steve Ditko expends much effort on a tale about a dissatisfied heir who rails against a wealthy ancestor. His background details are admirable, but the character's faces are a bit sloppy in their execution. This is number 1 of 4 Journey Into Mystery issues with Williamson art and/or covers.
